Improve Your Sites Google Ranking Using the UCSF A-Z list

In general there are 5 things you can do to improve your Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

  1. Publish Relevant Content
  2. Update Your Content Regularly
  3. Have good Metadata
  4. Have a site others link to
  5. Use Alt tags

By using the A-Z list you get a link from some of the most reputable sites at UCSF, the main UCSF website and the websites site. This helps your site to be found by search engines, and improves your ranking.

Here is how to update your information in the A-Z list.

  1. Go to https://ucsf.service-now.com/ess/website_management
  2. Click “Browse My Websites” to view existing sites or manage UCSF websites to find the site and update the data.
  3. Include a description of your site in the “Additional Information” field (optional, but helpful)
  4. If a site isn’t included in the inventory, you can register the site using the Manage UCSF Websites option.

If a site is noted as private in the inventory, it will not show up in the new A-Z list. Sites that are not the inventory also won’t show up in the new A-Z list. So it’s important that you verify that your site is included in the inventory to ensure it presents in the A-Z list.
