When adding a profile I receive "LDAP entry does not allow release for [email protected]"

If you get the following message "LDAP entry does not allow release for [email protected]", then you need to have the customer update their Directory profile to allow the release of the Email address.

Have the person who's email address you are trying to add to your Site Builder website do the following:

  1. Go to directory.ucsf.edu
  2. Click on Edit My Record.
  3. Set the Record Visibility to Public
    Option for Public setting
    * Set to option as shown in pink
  4. Set the Email to Public

    * Set to option as shown in pink

  5. We recommend setting the UCSF Campus Phone Number to public, if you have one.
  6. Adjust other visibility settings as desired.
  7. Click Save Changes

After that is completed, you can try adding their profile again.

NOTE: This technique will also fix the issue in regard to the error "LDAP entry release code missing for [email protected]."

TIP: If this doesn't work you can also try using your 02 number, also known as your UCSF ID (enter in the email field).
