Enabling the Module
- Read the module documentation on drupal.org
- Login as the site admin to your website (https://yoursite.ucsf.edu/user)
- Click on the "Modules" text in the admin menu
- Type Metatag into the the filter list box
- Check the Metatag: Verification box in the "enabled" column
- Click the "save configuration" button near the bottom left of the page
- The module is now enabled
Obtaining Verification Meta tag
- Login to the Google Webmaster tools
- Add "yoursite.ucsf.edu" to the search box and click "add property"
- On the verification page select the "alternate methods" tab
- Select "HTML tag"
- Copy the tag
Configuring this Module
- Login as the site admin to your website (https://yoursite.ucsf.edu/user)
- Click on the "Modules" text in the admin menu
- Type Site Verification into the the filter list box
- Click the configure link next to the Site Verification module
- Select add verification
- Select Google and click next
- Paste your google meta tag into the "Verification Meta Tag"
- Save it
Your site has now been verified by Google.
